How to Register as a Referral Instructor

    A Referral Instructor rating is a privilege issued to current, active scuba instructors who are affiliated with Referral Locations, desire to conduct referral training, and meet all application requirements. Current, active scuba Instructors who want to qualify as Referral Instructors may contact any participating agency and request a Referral Instructor Packet and instructions. The packet contains a Registration Form and a Referral Instructor Exam.

The basic steps for registration are outlined on the Registration Form and include:
  • Studying the Universal Referral manual.
  • Answering the questions on the Referral Instructor Exam.
  • Completing the Referral Instructor Registration Form.
  • Submitting to the sanctioning agency copies of various documents listed on the Instructor Registration Form.
